Wedding Cake Prices

Choosing your wedding cake is about more than simply deciding how many tiers you need. Every Searle Jones wedding cake is individually designed, with the final price reflecting the size, level of detail, handcrafted elements and requirements for delivery and set-up.

Our wedding cake prices start from £750, with a minimum spend of £750 applying to all wedding cake orders, including smaller or more intimate celebrations.

The prices below are intended as a guide for the cake itself. Once we know more about your wedding and the design you have in mind, we can provide a tailored quotation.

Minimum Wedding Cake Spend

The minimum spend for wedding cake orders is £750.

For couples planning a smaller or more intimate wedding, a two-tier cake may be suitable, and smaller designs may be possible on selected dates. However, the £750 minimum spend still applies to all wedding cake orders.

This allows us to dedicate the same level of care and craftsmanship to every wedding cake, regardless of the size of the celebration.

There is no single price for a bespoke wedding cake. Two cakes with the same number of tiers can have very different prices depending on the design and amount of handcrafted work involved.

The number of tiers is one of the main factors when considering wedding cake prices. Your cake needs to provide enough portions for your guests, while the overall size and proportions will also influence the finished design.

A smaller, intimate wedding may only require two tiers, while larger celebrations may call for three, four or more tiers.

A simple, elegant cake and a highly detailed bespoke design require very different amounts of time and skill.

Intricate finishes, delicate textures, architectural details, painted elements and other bespoke features can all affect the final cost of your wedding cake.

Handcrafted sugar flowers, foliage and other decorative elements are individually created and can be particularly time-intensive.

If your design includes detailed floral work or other handmade decorations, these will be reflected in the final quotation.

Wedding cake delivery is about more than transporting the cake from A to B. Depending on the venue and cake design, your cake may require careful transportation, on-site assembly and professional set-up.

The delivery distance and level of set-up required at your venue will therefore be taken into consideration when preparing your quotation.

Dummy tiers can be incorporated into larger statement cakes where appropriate, while sculpted or novelty structures can allow for more unusual and creative designs.

These are quoted individually, as the requirements can vary considerably depending on the design, construction and installation involved.

If you’re researching how much a wedding cake costs, it’s worth remembering that bespoke wedding cakes are priced according to the work involved rather than simply the number of tiers.

At Searle Jones Wedding Cakes, our wedding cake prices start from £750, with three-tier cakes starting from £825 and four-tier cakes from £1,050.

More elaborate five- and six-tier cakes are quoted individually, allowing us to take into account the scale of the cake, guest numbers, design complexity, handcrafted details and installation requirements.

Our aim is to create a cake that feels completely personal to your wedding, rather than working from a fixed selection of designs.

We recommend getting in touch as early as possible, particularly if you have a specific wedding date or a highly bespoke design in mind.

When enquiring, it is helpful to include your wedding date, venue, approximate guest numbers and any ideas or inspiration you already have for your cake. This gives us a starting point for discussing the size and style of cake that will work best for your celebration.

From there, we can talk through your ideas and provide a bespoke quotation based on your requirements.

Every wedding is different, and your wedding cake should be too. We create bespoke wedding cakes designed around each couple, from understated and elegant designs to larger statement cakes with intricate handcrafted details.
